The core of the EUforia Latin America Youth Summit (ELAYS) is the 4-day Think&Do Tank taking place in Geneva from October 13 at night to October 17, 2010.

What are you going to do?
One simple thing : You are going to turn your IDEAS into ACTION with the aim of developping LOCAL responses to GLOBAL challenges.

Program day by day
Wednesday (18h30-22h00)
Public evening with 100-250 participants as kick-off event, presenting social entrepreneurship as a way of creating change locally to tackle global challenges, offering a platform to the young social entrepreneurs from Latin America to present their initiatives and experience an interactive and innovative type of debate: the world café. The world café will initiate the brainstorming process with the attendants of the public evening with the aim of finding tons of ideas on how to tackle global challenges locally.
Thursday (9h00-23h00)
- Team building
- Theory and exercises on social entrepreneurship
- Brainstorming process to get from a dream to a clear and realizable project idea
- Formation of project teams
The participants are to get to know themselves and realize the high level of reciprocal potential and motivation in order to begin identifying needs, abilities and methods necessary to develop their own project idea to elaborate local responses to global challenges.
Friday (9h00-23h00)
- Develop a social entrepreneur habitus
- Experiment and test the conceptualization and implementation of social entrepreneurship projects in a team
The participants get to test and experiment the implementation of social entrepreneurship projects during several challenges, which allow them to develop their projects, listen to inspiring stories of experienced changemakers and interiorise the logic of a social entrepreneur (spirit of initiative, leadership, creativity, vision, team work, empathy, …).
Saturday (9h00-23h00)
- Develop a social entrepreneur habitus
- Experiment and test the conceptualization and implementation of social entrepreneurship projects in a team
The participants meet experienced and skilled (social) entrepreneurs and project leaders who offer them useful specific services and know-how to develop their projects e.g. by helping them clarify objectives, strengthen elements of innovation, boost social impact, build financial and marketing plans and pitch their projects. Afterwards they present their project ideas and plans to a jury and the public in order to get specific feedback on how to enhance their chances of success. Having passed the jury, it’s time to celebrate!
Sunday (9h00-23h00)
- Harvest learned lessons of ELAYS
- Prepare the commitment: elaboration of a concrete action plan
- Create a new network of changemakers dedicated to tackling global challenges locally
The participants define their personal and project-related objectives for the next months and years, in order to have a clear plan of the next steps and where they’re heading. In addition they define how they will continue to work with the other participants after ELAYS.
