The “After” part of the ELAYS is all about ensuring sustainability of our actions. It includes a social business trip and a social challenge.

Social Business Trip – for the Latin Americans

After a couple of days rest in Geneva and bit of Swiss culture, the Latinos, accompanied by 2 representatives of EUforIA, will set off on a European wide social business trip. After Geneva, from October 19 till 31, 2010, the young social entrepreneurs will visit Berlin, Paris and Madrid,  in view of:

• Meeting with potential partners (NGOs, sponsors, politicians, specialists, etc.)
• Exchanging ideas and advice with young local social entrepreneurs from Europe
• Fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding

In this way, the young Latinos will have to opportunity to make their project known, reinforce their network and establish the basis for future collaboration in order to multiply the impact of their projects.

Additionally, the trip will be the occasion to spread across Europe ELAYS’  new approach to international cooperation (“development aid turned upside down”): hopefully the first flakes of a big snow ball!

Social Challenge – for the Swiss residents

Four weeks after the Think&Do Tank, the new project teams will be invited to send us a detailed account of the advancement of their venture. The most promising project will receive CHF 1’000.- to finance the first expenses as established in their action plan. This contest, hopefully to be repeated one and six months after the ELAYS, is one of the elements of our monitoring strategy to guarantee the sustainability of the new initiatives.
