Turning development aid upside down: young Latinos’ ideas selected for import into Europe

The first step of the ELAYS was conducted in collaboration with Ashoka’s Youth Venture offices all over South America: We launched a continent-wide call for promising projects led by young social entrepreneurs. The projects were selected on the basis of social impact, creativity and transferability to Europe.

In March 2010, a jury of experts selected the top 3 projects and EUforIA invited these 6 young Latin American social entrepreneurs to take part in the ELAYS and inspire young Europeans to launch new projects in Switzerland.

Selecting the participants in Switzerland

Applications launched May 5, 2010 to find 50 motivated young persons to take part in the ELAYS. The deadline for the first share of participants is fixed to May 31,2010. 32 fantastic  participants were selected by the end of June. Applications reopened on July 20,2010.
