What makes the realization of projects complicated is the fact, that projects -just like everything else- cost money.
As initiators of any project, you must have a clear idea of how much it will cost. The different costs must be determined before you can ask donors or sponsors for money and start a fundraising initiative. The problem is indeed that the budget needs to be elaborated at a time when the project team often does not yet know all the different costs that the project will bring with it, neither their value. This is especially a problem for beginners and it is advisable to carefully elaborate the costs of your project in a financial plan and show it to people who already have some experience in the field.
Once the amount of money needed is determined and your financial plan stands, you can start to raise the money. As money does not simply fall from the sky for a good project with a transparent financial plan, it is a challenge to find donors willing to pay for your initiative – but it is possible!
