“Connecting Cultures” – international training course on intercultural youth work 29. May – 3. June 2012, Sportchalet Mürren, Bern Alpes

This training course offers participants from whole Europe the opportunity the learn and create new actions and projects for intercultural youth work.

The training course is non-formal, interactive and action-based. The participants are youth workers involved in intercultural youth work and will learn from each other through sharing of best practices, discussions, organised sessions, group and individual work.

With participants from: Switzerland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Ireland, Israel/Palestine, Kosovo, Croatia, Hungary.
- THERE IS STILL OPEN PLACE FOR SWISS PARTICIPANTS -

Target group: Youth workers, youth leaders and project leaders involved and interested in action-based intercultural work.
Training course language: English
Costs: The course is covered by the programme YOUTH IN ACTION (including accommodation and food), the participants will get refunded 70% of their travel costs – minus a participation fee of 40 Euros.

InteGREAT est une association à but non-lucratif jeune et dynamique qui a pour objectif de promouvoir la diversité et l’échange culturel. Ses actions sont menées par des jeunes, pour tout public dont la curiosité de « l’autre », la diversité et la recherche de nouvelles connaissances sont des valeurs essentielles. Les membres du Comité d’InteGREAT sont des jeunes expérimentés dans le domaine festivalier, les évènements médiatisés ainsi que dans l’organisation et la logistique de ceux-ci. Ce sont tous des bénévoles engagés qui souhaitent transmettre cette valeur auprès de tous à travers les activités de l’association. C’est un acte de citoyenneté permettant de développer les compétences de chacun tout en participant activement à la vie de notre ville et à plus large échelle notre société.

Nous voulons que ces activités soient accessibles à tous et en aucun cas que l’argent soit une barrière. Si quelques services fournis venaient à être payants nous voulons qu’ils soient libres afin que chacun donne ce qu’il veut et ce qu’il peut. Les bénéfices générés seront réinvestis dans des projets d’utilité publique, dans des œuvres caritatives et dans le fonctionnement d’InteGREAT afin de nous permettre d’organiser d’autres événements publics.

Et le festival ?

InteGREAT organise un festival multiculturel sur trois jours destiné à promouvoir la diversité et l’échange culturel. Il sera mené sous la couple de la tolérance et de l’apprentissage à travers diverses activités telles que des concerts folkloriques, des stands de nourritures traditionnelles, des conférences, des expositions d’art ainsi que divers ateliers.

Pour pouvoir mener à bien ce projet nous avons besoin de personnes motivées comme vous. Anouck est une jeune étudiante de 23 ans enthousiaste et active dans une ONG internationale. Motivée par ses projets, Anouck se positionne comme porteuse d’une « mission ». Par son attitude rayonnante et motivée, elle transmet un message d’encouragement, incitant les jeunes à changer de petites choses dans leurs habitudes quotidiennes. Cela fait quelques mois qu’elle est bénévole chez Euforia, association qui soutient notamment le projet ChangeMaker.Cette communauté de personnes partage idées, connaissances et expériences, ses membres se motivent et s’inspirent les uns les autres. Tink.ch is a national youth media with a weekly online publication (in German and French) and a print magazine four times a year (in German). We cover almost all topics from Politics and Society to Culture and Sports, and are open for your ideas!

Location: National (with editorial offices in Bern, Zürich, Basel, St. Gallen, Luzern, Solothurn, Genève, Lausanne)

Issue or area: Journalism / Media

Aims and goals: We want to boost the media competence of young people and we consider us as an entry to the world of media. With workshops, a lot of feedback for each contribution, reportages in teams, networking and events we’d like to give you the opportunity to progress steadily.

Type of activities: Reporting, interviews, photography, reportages, layout, and illustrations.

Looking for, opportunities to get involved: Everyone who’d like to make some first steps in journalism or to develop his or her skills is welcome to join us. No experience in journalism is required. Working with Tink will be on a voluntary and flexible basis and it marks a perfect entry for people who are interested in media. For those with experience it may be a great opportunity to get deeper insights to the world of media as we have a lot of interesting partner organisations. Furthermore, it can be a precious reference in the CV.
