InteGREAT

April 27, 2012 in InteGREAT, Projects descriptions

Rejob

We establish an information platform for responsible careers, targeted at graduates. By assessing the social and environmental impact of companies with respect to different categories, our system leads to more transparency and presents a base for responsible career decisions. In order to minimize effort and to profit from established data sources we gather data from existing data bases and process it to provide the relevant information for graduates and job-seekers. In addition to a direct web interface, we offer the processed data to external job platforms. Moreover, we offer well-rated companies the opportunity to publish detailed company profiles.

Superhero Training

December 16, 2011 in impact award, Projects descriptions, Superhero Training

Being a Superhero* is a mindset and a choice. A Superhero* knows that he can change something and he chooses to act, to do so.At the Superhero Training, young people become empowerd to experience themselves as superheroes, able to change the world and encouraged to take the choice to do so. The Superhero theme gives a creative and playful frame for the “serious” personal development training. The Training consists of one week of camp and follow up-weekends. During the camp, enabled by the unusual environment and the intensive time, a strong feeling of being a Superhero will rise up. This feeling and mindset will be transferred into everyday life with help of the follow up weekends.

The Local Offering

December 15, 2011 in Dine2Day, Projects descriptions

The Local Offering, formerly Dine2Day, aims to build real world friendships and promote the consumption of sustainable local food. The Local Offering achieves this by providing users with an online platform that allows them to organize dinner parties at restaurants and their homes, making sustainable consumption a fun, intuitive, and streamlined experience. Users can host dinners at their homes, organize meals at restaurants, or attend dinners hosted by other people in their area. Users can also post on a community newsfeeds in order to alert others about their favorite local food markets, vendors, shops, and upcoming deals, festivals and events.

The fundamental aim of The Local Offering is to leverage the power of digital communication technologies to build meaningful real-world friendships around a similar interest in sustainable food. By bringing like-minded people together to celebrate cooking and dining, The Local Offering aims to create a vibrant community of conscious, forward looking people. By fostering real-world interactions, The Local Offering transforms digital communication technologies from a possible source of isolation into an engaging platform that satisfies users physical, emotional and mental needs. Members’ physical needs are satisfied through the meal that is shared, their emotional needs are satisfied through the act of sharing, and their mental needs are satisfied by the opportunity to learn new skills, such as new recipes or languages. By engaging with the Local Offering community on a regular basis, people can improve their eating habits, make new friends, and learn new and exciting things in the process.

The Local Offering is currently under construction in preparation for a Summer/Fall 2012 launch. To receive email updates please contact Jesse at jesse.bisignano@gmail.com.

Develocal

December 15, 2011 in Develocal, impact award, Projects descriptions

MEYA – Movement for the Expression of Young Artists

December 15, 2011 in impact award, MEYA, Projects descriptions

weACT

December 15, 2011 in impact award, Projects descriptions, weACT

The purpose of weACT is to raise people’s awareness and mobilization around global environmental challenges and climate change by  encouraging the development of “green” skills and behaviors. weACT is a student association, founded in January 2011, at ETH in Zürich. We are living in a time where everybody is conscious of climate change and its consequences. We are also fully aware that it is influenced by our day-to-day activities and the consumption habits we have. But how many of us are taking real actions to contribute to the mitigation of climate change by choosing to live in a more sustainable way?  There are several things we cannot influence directly. The economic and legislative framework need time to change. But there is one thing we can change today, if we are willing and committed. That is our daily habits. Little changes add up and make a large difference. For this reason weACT supports and motivates people in changing their everyday habits toward a more sustainable lifestyle. Alone, this can be a real challenge: We are therefore doing it together, creating a fun environment that allows you to feel connected.
